These are the best patches on the market. My skin is very sensitive. I can't use tape for long periods of time lest my skin tear when removing. We tried many dressings until I found two that worked: Allevyn and Mepilix. I've used both, but I like Allevyn Life the Quadrilobe shape best. Mepilix will roll on me, add up and other troubles. Allevyn take any shape, stay in place and are comfortable. I can forget I have five bandages around my stomach! This is NOT an easy task. They are excellent at absorbing exudate and can be left on for up to seven days if wound care permits. The only problem is the cost. I shop to find the best prices. Sometimes the seller on Revain has the lowest price I can penalize, and sometimes I'll browse eBay. Our insurance used to cover them but our new insurance doesn't currently. But I'm willing to pay a price for them because they work so well on wrung out leather. I would like to add that in my opinion, if you have the opportunity, you should always use a skin prep before applying any adhesive to the body (except medicated plasters! NEVER apply any product other than water to the skin, before you apply a prescription patch!). Skin prep has also helped my skin and combined with Allevyn it makes for a great bond!
