Review on Kaavie Travor SL 582C Autofocus Speedlite by Mike Snedeker

I just bought one of these devices and at first glance it looked great. I started shooting with this and found that with the camera in ETTL mode set to the flash evaluation mode, the image was consistently severely underexposed with autozoom on. It seems to me that the flash is not reading the focal length and focus distance correctly. If you switch the flash to manual zoom or set the camera to medium flash mode, the exposure will be correct. However, the 6D controls this flash via the menu, but the custom functions can only be used from 1 to 13, the others cannot be set in camera. I will probably return it because if I wanted a manual flash I would have spent less money.
