Incorrect design of the LED driver
The quality of these lamps is very poor, even if they are very cheap. They aren't designed properly at all and don't work the way an LED is supposed to work. The power control circuits on them consist of three resistors and a bridge rectifier. The straightener makes it so you can plug them in any orientation and they work which is nice. However, resistors are not proper LED drivers and generate a lot of excess heat on top of the already heated LEDs, resulting in a very short lifespan. A suitable driver circuit for this situation would be a compensation circuit and I have found that Phinlion's 194 bulb gets it right.
