Review on ๐Ÿ’พ Sabrent Rocket Pro 1TB NVMe External Aluminum SSD | USB 3.1 Interface (SB-1TB-NVME) by Joe Michels

Revainrating 5 out of 5

We'll go straight ahead at FUNNY SPEED!

Perfect for local Veeam backups and ad hoc file transfers, this drive is hands down the fastest external USB drive I've ever used. The attached video shows a folder with five large ISO and EXE files totaling 4.43GB being copied to the Rocket Pro in about 16 seconds at an average transfer rate of about 322MB/s. It comes with a USB 3.1 connector, so it's supposedly the fastest drive that can work, but even on USB 2/USB 1 systems, the drive's read speeds are excellent. The drive's machined aluminum body feels solid and well-built. , and while it behaves like a heatsink, I didn't feel the case at any temperature other than room temperature, even after a 45-minute DiskMark stress test. I agree that the included cable isn't the highest quality I've seen, but it doesn't feel cheap either. A USB-A connector is handy as it's fully backwards compatible with older systems I work with. I've demonstrated this to several colleagues (someone geeks) and they're all thrilled with the performance for the price. .
