Really good quality device - worth paying a little more and getting a good reliable device than paying a little less and getting junk . For XBOX One you only need 1x2 but I have 1x4 because I plan to add a second TV soon and once installed you just need to connect another HDMI cable and you are good to go. 1) Yes, it works. wonderful with XBOX One and HDMI input.2) It is a SEPARATOR. It accepts ONE signal and allows you to split its OUTPUT evenly among multiple devices. It's not a SWITCHER (to allow multiple devices to switch between the same input) and it's not an HDMI matrix (allowing you to mix/match multiple devices with multiple monitors). Build quality seems very professional - no cheap plastic, nice metal body. After a few days of use, it still feels cool and doesn't overheat (or heat up at all). I really didn't want a device that needed to be plugged into power, but after looking at many devices I found that most that only rely on HDMI power just aren't reliable enough. The only complaint I had was that this is one of those "sideways" plugs so it can be tricky to install. However, this was a small price to pay for such an excellent performance. I have a Sony receiver that most of my equipment is connected to (except XBOX One) and the HDMI output is connected to a splitter. The splitter then splits into two HDMIs - one goes to my TV and the other goes to my XBOX One. This way I can watch everything normally as usual, but I can also redirect it through my XBOX One to use the SNAP/TV feature. This is the perfect setup for my needs. As I said above, I'll be adding a second TV soon - I've been considering an HDMI matrix, which is a lot more expensive, but since I just want to play XBOX One while watching other content, I really won't need to . It is possible to add another TV to this device - it just gives you the option of not using SNAP on your XBOX One and watching two different things on two different TVs. However, if you want to connect all of your sources directly to it and output to multiple monitors, this will NOT work for you. Very happy, glad I didn't use some inferior equipment before getting this. Five minutes to set up, it worked straight away and of course since this isn't analogue the quality doesn't go down. Now I have a lot more options, and already the option to expand in the future - if you even think you'll ever want to add more devices (with a possible 80ft HDMI out you can pipe it to another room), you would I pay an extra $10 to get a 1x4 like me, but still a quality product, you just have to know what you need and what you are buying.
