I have a licensed kindergarten at home and already have a few gates. My first opinion straight out of the box was what appears to be cheaply made! I was sure I would return it but decided to install and try it out first. I've had them for a month now and just ordered two more. Advantages: price compared to other walk-through gates, this is the lowest price. Versatility - I can easily take it off its hinges on the weekend so it's out of the way and just slide it back on on a Monday morning. It can also swing in both directions. Cosmetics – looks good and goes with my decor. Lock with a strong latch that is almost impossible to open with small hands. Cons: Light wooden construction (although this can also be a plus as it makes the gate light). The latch is locked when the gate is closed. You have to squeeze the latch to lock and unlock. The cosmetic finish is a little scratched from the gate being pushed in and out of the bottom brace so many times.
