Don't hesitate to buy this one.

The gate was awful, the slats had fallen out completely - we couldn't believe four of them were just out of place! Fortunatly nobody was hurt. Couldn't return because we didn't save the box, I mean why would you want that if you have it installed? And we even paid a professional to install it so we don't spend money on entry plus installation money.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • expensive

My railing is too old.

House built in 1969 and I found that the first two spindles were (critically) an inch further apart than the other spindles, wider than the maximum width of the "universal adapter kit". Still analyzing how to solve the problem. The box itself seems fine. So 5 stars for the kit but I have to solve my problem. "Universal" was not "universal".

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Functionality

Expected more for my money.

Seems to work but the price is a bit high for the quality. It seems a little fragile for wood. The hinges make it easy to take the gate off quickly, but it's almost too easy, and it definitely requires two hands to reattach because they're too loose. Overall not a big deal, only $15-20 more than it should be, for $50 I was expecting a much stronger goal!

Pros
  • Everything is fine!

Looks good for door and stair gates

This gate looks nice but damn it was a pain to install! The instructions are quite confusing which makes it a lot harder. The gates work well but I would like them to open and close more smoothly. You have to press the handle and move the gate and then open it. Sometimes it gets stuck when sliding, which is uncomfortable, especially when carrying a child in one hand. If it gets stuck and you use too much force to open it, the side that attaches to the wall will slide out. Overall I like this…

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

I have a non-standard entrance and like to keep dogs off the front door.

I have a custom sized entryway and prefer to keep dogs away from the front door as it is all glass. I also like to open the door and use the door when they are not trying to run or jump on people entering my house. This fully meets the requirements! It was very easy to install and works great. It's not the tallest/sturdiest design given its purpose and location and apart from being made of titanium I can't find a better gate for the purpose. My dogs don't fall or jump on baby gates so this is…

Bought more! for gates and gate extensions

I have a licensed kindergarten at home and already have a few gates. My first opinion straight out of the box was what appears to be cheaply made! I was sure I would return it but decided to install and try it out first. I've had them for a month now and just ordered two more. Advantages: price compared to other walk-through gates, this is the lowest price. Versatility - I can easily take it off its hinges on the weekend so it's out of the way and just slide it back on on a Monday morning. It…

  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...

Not the right goal for me, but not terrible.

Pros: Nice colour, strong when closed, easy to remove from the hinges if needed for any reason, good span and fairly quick installation. Cons: In our townhouse, our main living quarters are on the second and third floors, so we placed this gate at the top of the stairs from the first to the second floor. Regardless of how we installed it, the latch was right next to the railing (about an inch too far), making the spring open and close very difficult to access. To open the gate, you need to…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • The list will go on.
