Review on Turntable Denon DP-300F light silver by Czeslawa Laskowska ( ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I am completely satisfied, item complies with description.

My first player, I took to listen to acomllection of classics inherited (which I began to join recently). I did not expect miracles from the budget device and plastics of the Melody, but still the sound from the box disappointed. The sound is flat, no high frequencies. After researching the opinions of people on the Internet, I decided to purchase an external phono stage. I bought a Nikitin phono stage (acompy of CREEK made by 2022 craftsmen) and the sound changed! The sound became juicy and lively, high appeared. Probably far from Hi-Fi, but I have nothing tocommpare with, the sound suits me, I didn’t even expect this from Melodiya’s records. On the advice found on thenet, Icommpletelyruled out the phono stage board by soldering thecomres of the output cable directly to the wires from the pickup. Subjectively, the sound has become a little better, but I'm not sure anymore. So I recommend using an external phono stage unequivocally, about "biting" the built-in one out of the circuitcommpletely - not necessarily for an amateur. Bottom line - for those who want a normal sound out of the box, the model will not work. Who is ready to invest also in a phono stage - a good option. For those who are interested, here is a link to a fragment of the disc "Carmen Suite", "C 01659-60", edition of 1979. One and the same fragment with a built-in phono stage and with a phonocomre. Nikitin.

Pros
  • Price, tonearm, design.
Cons
  • Built-in phono stage.
