Excellent 220MHz Mobile Radio

TYT TH-9000D 60W 220-260MHz 200 Channels Mobile Ham Radio was very easy to install . Programming might be a bit tricky but I used RT Systems programming software. I have tried using the data/programming cable that came with the radio along with the software that I got from the internet. The software only recognized COM port 9 and did not communicate with the radio. Out of curiosity I tried the TYT software with a cable from RT Systems and it worked great. It found COM ports 9 and 15. I chose 15 and everything works fine. My radio was up and running in less than an hour. I've only had the radio for two days and I didn't notice two oddities that I couldn't solve. 1) There is a humming noise in the background when receiving a signal. 2) When the station ends the transmission and turns off the radio, I hear an annoying popping sound. I've looked through the configuration file and haven't found a setting that would help mitigate both of these issues. The reception sound is very good. I haven't had a chance to speak to anyone to get a signal report, but I'm sure there's no problem with the transfer process. The radio can be set up and operated intuitively. So far it's a fun radio. 1.25MHz or 220MHz ham radios are pretty hard to come by, so I was happy to find a TYT TH-9000D 60W, 220-260MHz, 200ch ham radio mobile transceiver at Revain. The price for this radio with all its features is a bargain. Longevity is the real selling point so I will be looking at this radio over time.
