Be careful with that soft pad

I put the basket with the padding in the cage and it didn't take long for my pet rats to tear up the pad and pull it out. They don't seem to like the basket that much at the moment as I've never seen them in one and preferred my hammocks. I think part of that might be because they look pretty small to her, which doesn't allow them to snuggle up to each other. This is odd as I used to have pet rats that liked to sleep in hanging bags/socks. Maybe a material you don't like either? Shame.
