Review on πŸ”ͺ Jaccard Stainless Steel Full Size Mandolin Slicer with 7 Blades by Charles Quinones

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Slightly thin and uneven slices

I really wanted a portable ceramic blade carving knife that could rival my metal bladed mandolin on a stand, just for the sake of simplicity. I was disappointed with this slicer because the plastic base is too flexible to cut even multiple identical slices. (I'm not aiming for uniform thickness in the micron range, but about the same.) I'm also concerned that the plastic base will soon crack due to the flex it makes with things like carrots. And when I tried to cut the hard salami, she ripped the flesh and showed me that that particular ceramic blade isn't even as sharp as my metal blade. Now this food slicer sits deep in the bottom drawer waiting for me to give to someone who just needs something for occasional use, and since it's going to be a free gift they don't care if it breaks. My demands are higher than what this slicer offers.

Pros
  • Holding my fists
Cons
