Review on Frida Mom Postpartum Recovery Essentials Kit: Disposable Underwear, Ice Maxi Absorbency Pads, Cooling Witch Hazel Medicated Pad Liners & Perineal Healing Foam. by Peter Boisvert

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fantastic comfort after delivery. The convenience and ease make this well worth it.

I’m seeing some negative reviews here claiming the pads weren’t cold long enough, the underwear ripped, and that people felt misled when the peri bottle wasn’t included. I wanted to write a review for anyone being scared away by those comments, because i found this kit SO helpful immediately postpartum.I ended up ordering the peri bottle in addition because my doula recommended it, and I’m so glad I did. I used it and every component of this kit on my first bathroom trip after delivery and OMG was it comforting. The ice pack maxi pads were incredibly relieving, not stiff and uncomfortable to sit on like my homemade ones. And the long pad liners were so nice because they stayed in place and cooled better than the stupid round ones you have to fiddle with to peel apart when you’re just miserable enough already!I was able to wear each pair of underwear for probably over 24 hours because the pads were so absorbent thst the underwear was staying clean, and they never even came close to ripping (and I’m a size 14 in jeans)If any product is expendable I’d say it’s the foam, just because the liners are comforting enough without it, but I still used it and was glad for it.

Pros
  • Comes in a compact and portable kit
Cons
  • Could perpetuate the idea that recovering from childbirth is solely a physical process
