Review on πŸ”§ The Ultimate Motorcraft FL2062 Oil Filter: Ensuring Optimal Engine Performance! by Lucas Rowe

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is the correct filter for the F-150 2.7 liter ecoboost

I think I'm the 100th to say this: according to the F-150 manual it is indeed the correct oil filter for 2.7L 2015-2016 I don't know why Revain hasn't updated it yet, especially as the filter they say fits right doesn't fit. In any case, FL2062 is correct. EDIT NOVEMBER 16, 2020: I've noticed a bunch of negative feedback because we're now getting 2062-A instead of 2062. 2062-A is the new version that Motorcraft is sending out. This is NOT a fake. It would be helpful if Revain removed the image of the old rubber stopper filter and replaced it with an image of the updated filter and updated the description to "2062-A". When I first received the 2062-A and opened the box in the middle of an oil change I panicked and thought I had a fake too. A quick Googling calmed me down. :) The top o-rings are very simple. The bottom o-ring can be easily removed with a tool, but installing a new one can be tricky. I just did my first oil change on my 2016 and sent that little sucker off at least 3 times before finally working the 'nose' of the filter shaft. The body is only torqued to 18 ft-lbs, which means you shouldn't over-tighten unless you have a torque wrench. A few tips if you are doing an oil change for the first time (applies to F-150): 1) Get a drill with an 8 head to remove the heat shield. Doing this with a socket wrench is a little tricky (ask me how I know), but it's very quick and easy to toggle on and off with a screwdriver. In fact, you can even remove it with your fingers. Get ready for the oil erupting in a huge torrent! Have a large pan ready and hold it with one hand the first time to catch the oil and see where the pan is properly placed so the oil doesn't get on everything. 3) Note. What if you just turned off the engine before removing the plug you have to wait a good 20-30 minutes for the oil to drain. That's how long it takes for the oil to slowly return through the heads to the sump. It actually has TSB on it because the dealer's techs didn't wait long enough and overfilled the engine (because it takes a good twenty minutes or so after adding new oil to get the correct reading on the stem).
