I bought this for a slightly different application for which it works great. Like many other families, I have a multi-stage reverse osmosis water filtration system under the kitchen sink. I have to change the filters about every six months and I have to flush each of the carbon filter cartridges for a few minutes before installing them. But how does one do it? It occurred to me that I could buy a housing with a cartridge and some fittings and run a garden hose through each filter to rinse them out for a few minutes. Buying cases is easy and finding the right hardware is a bit tricky, but when you add up the cost of the cheapest parts available it's about the same as buying this kit. So I bought this kit. I was pleased to find that all fittings are of high quality. For example, the main parts of the hose adapters are solid metal and not plastic. As you can see from the attached photo, flushing the filter before installation is now a breeze.
