Look no further, this is what you need. I tried different chargers and they all had the same problems: - intermittent connections to the small connector on the base of the controller - failed to charge - difficult to position and connect connectors - didn't work with controller shells (controller was too thick to fit connector) This charger has a different design that uses the same connector that is used to connect the cable to the PS4. Provides a stronger and more secure connection that is easy to make. You can feel them making a strong connection. And the physical design means there are no issues with controller shells (I have colored silicone covers on mine). Controller whether the PS4 is on or not. So it fits for me. Some people have complained that the LEDs are on all the time. That's true, but with the controllers installed I'd say they block 90% of the light. So unless it's a bedroom and you're not sensitive to light, this shouldn't be a problem. If you connect to the PS4 for power, I'm not sure if this is an issue when the PS4 goes to sleep.
