I've been installing AV equipment since 2005 and this one is a great fit. We had a Denon AV receiver and a Parasound amp driving a pair of Martin Logan's ESL freestanding speakers. These tend to be fairly sensitive speakers and indeed when I added the Parasound we heard a distinct hum. Although I tied it all to impulses and linear conditioning. Parasounds grounded to outlet, only hum found. This home was ONLY newly built, but things like that can certainly happen. So I installed this adapter and it worked really well BUT there are a few things to note here: 1. They definitely swapped the wires on the inside where red goes to white and white goes to red. Which doesn't really matter as long as it works and the sound is flawless. What is this.2. Your accommodation is EVERYTHING. I've found that depending on where I place the unit, it picks up its own interference. So I had to mount it away from the amp because it made noise that this adapter picked up. So if you keep these two points in mind, you will be in good shape. $8 for a solution like this is a wonderful thing. FYI, I've also confirmed the sound with and without this adapter. My low and high scores were equally good in both cases and I didn't notice any difference. I really think the key for me was where I put it. Good luck everyone!
