The concept is good but the thickness of the metal that attaches the base to the wall is too thin. This will cause the metal to warp when you tighten the set screw that holds the handle in place. You screwed it up with just one set screw. This means that only one point of contact holds the two parts together. Think old-school chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Then there is a piece of the globe that comes on top and has three set screws that hold the globe in place. They had to do that here. Instead of three, they used one screw. You tend to overtighten that one screw to hold the device in place, but it just bends the metal and after a few weeks it falls off the wall.
