I didn't think finding a basic caller id would be so hard but it turned out. When I found it, it looked like what I was looking for - a very simple, inexpensive, no-frills device that detects incoming calls. We have caller id service on all our phones at work but few have caller id on their phones. We were told that if we have our own ID we can use it and I found that. Does exactly what I need. It detects an incoming call and if I miss the caller and don't leave a message I can call back if needed. Yes, a backlit device would be nice, but given the price, the lack of it doesn't make it useless. It's not very good, but it's pretty good, especially for the price.
