Full disclaimer, now that they're on my cables I like to use these banana plugs. My old Sony receiver/amplifier has very bad wire connections and the banana plug improvement is very important to me. However, if your receiver already has decent connections, don't worry about "upgrading" to those banana plugs. #1: Price. Is it expensive! I paid more for it than 30 meters of speaker cable! Of course it was a low budget speaker cable, but still. I was expecting better quality for what I paid for. #2: The initial installation is annoying. Did you know that some cable connectors are very simple, with a molded-in tab or spring-loaded switch? Well, here each banana plug has a screw-on shell that hides two small screws. And these are not Phillips screws or even Torx. no These are pan head screws and you need a set of precision screwdrivers (thank god I had one) to get them in and out. They seem efficient enough, and if you're an audio engineer who changes settings every week, they might be more reliable and can hold some thick wires, but I no longer have to hook up speakers. What, three times until I get a new room layout and I still need new speakers? There's a reason Revain doesn't have pictures and descriptions for this product; The reason is that they knew their design wasn't attractive. Also, this outer sleeve is very easy to detach while trying to unplug the banana plug from your audio device. You probably won't unscrew it all the way, but it will lose you a lot of grip power. #3: Waste of the environment. Ready? Each pair of banana corks is stored separately in a small plastic bag, then these plastic bags are stored in a larger transparent plastic container with a long empty section hanging for store shelves. All of this could be in a plastic bag or in a simple paper box. It's not difficult to be more environmentally conscious. when you're feeling down. The red or black label of each connector is actually a removable silicone ring. So if you actually connect the red connector to the black wire, you can swap and attach the rings. Corks appear to be exceptionally durable. After all, they are made entirely of metal. Because the product works, I feel compelled to give it 2 stars.
