Review on Bubble Magus BM Curve Protein Skimmer by Misty Myers

I really like this skimmer. I bought it because it was one of the few that I could fit into the sump of my 75g mix reef and still have some wiggle room. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it works and it worked almost immediately as advertised. I have it set to dry foam and have to clean the drip tray every 2-3 days. Has been working for two months now with no problems. I gave it four stars because: 1) the instructions aren't all that clear, and if you don't know much about skimmers and how they work, you'll need to ask YouTube or another source for help; 2) The building materials are certainly sufficient, but not as heavy as, for example, the Reef Octopus SSS150. However, the Bubble Magus is only $200, and at that price point, you probably won't find anything better. And because the Bubble Magus is lighter, it's easier to load, depalletize and clean. I'm not sure he'll be able to handle a tank much larger than a 75 despite being rated for a 120. But all skimmers tend to exaggerate their effectiveness. Conclusion: This is a good product at a good price and more importantly it works exactly as advertised.
