I used this to clean the seawater cooling system on a Volvo D4 260. I bought the boat last year and the previous owner did next to nothing to maintain it. and i knew it In general, everything was fine last year, but this year I noticed something. The coolant temperature fluctuated when exceeding 3000 rpm. I was supposed to run at 185 and jump to 196 and then to 200 if I could go without food. 205 and he went into defense and turned off the power himself. I removed the end plate of the turbo heat exchanger. and it had some shit in it, but not that bad. I could only imagine what the rest of the system looked like. I pulled out the impeller as it needed to be replaced anyway and I used the H8eraide 1:1 recirculation system with water according to the instructions. First I flushed my system with fresh water and then boiled it. I let it go one way for 90 minutes and then another 90 minutes the other way. The liquid became darker the longer it ran. After that I flushed the whole system with about 60 gallons of fresh water (both ways) and then put everything back together. I tore off the end of the turbocharger heat exchanger again. WOW it was clean. There was no trace left in it and it looked almost new. Collected and then went to testing. I ran it flat out for 30 minutes and it never went over 185. Great. I recommend. Absolutely. For my application, I used 2-1/2 gallons to make a total of 5 gallons of circulating solution. I could have done it with a 2 gallon, but forgot to shut off the gland hose. my fault.
