A few issues prevent it from being perfect

I've used over a dozen different nail lamps. Some of them were UV and others were LED. This particular lamp had many great things. First, it can be charged, which means you can do it no matter where you want to get your manicure done. Most of the devices have not only cords, but also short cords, which makes it difficult to get a manicure in a convenient place. Second, this light has multiple time options for the duration of the light. Including one for 60 seconds that actually adjusts the light's output as it counts down the timer. I thought this was a great idea and had high hopes for it. The battery lasts twice for a full set of nails if you just buff. If you plan to do gel nails, it's enough just once. The lamp also had several disadvantages. The light itself does not appear to be very strong. While I love the wireless feature, I don't want to sacrifice performance. Items that should dry in 60 seconds or less dried well in the 120-180 second range. Another major disadvantage is that while I use a lamp to do my own nails, I do my daughter's manicure more often. If you are using the lamp on yourself, you will need to reach over the front of the lamp to press the buttons. However, when you're doing someone else's nails, you're at the back of the lamp, where buttons reach over it to act on each nail. That or you will move the entire lamp on your side in front of you with each nail. If you need to move it from side to front it's really inconvenient as it's big and bulky, way bigger than any lamp I've used before but I'm pretty sure it's the battery. If you have to reach for it instead, you'll constantly come across buttons that are ridiculously easy to activate, so they keep turning off when you don't want them to. In general, I think the lamp should be smaller, have less sensitive buttons. and be a little stronger. If you are planning on getting gel nails or extensions I would avoid this lamp. If you go exclusively with gel polish, that might be a good thing.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
