Review on Senco DS162 14 DuraSpin Drywall Screwdriver by Narendra Thapa

Not enough power in screwdrivers

I bought one of these locally for hanging drywall during some repairs I'm doing. After looking through the box of screws and trying to convince myself I'm doing something wrong, I'll be returning it. The gun often stalls and stalls. With a freshly charged battery driving screws in the field, the gun stalls about 1 in 10 times, forcing me to come back with a cordless drill to manually install the screw. After about half a strip of screws on the battery or when screwing into corners where it is difficult to get the gun perfectly straight, the success rate drops significantly. I called Senco Tech Support to see what they had to say about this. I told them I used 1 5/8" screws to hang 5/8" drywall on both old (mahogany) and new (spruce) rafters and studs. They told me if I called them first they would recommend a higher torque screwdriver or one of their network screws. my statement.
