Review on ๐Ÿšฒ Kenda Kwest Commuter/Urban/Hybrid Bicycle Tire - 700x35c, Black by Terence Dardant

Buyer beware Good tires

Size was reduced from 700x40 to 700x38 so ordered these. Compared to the old tires, they were very tight when fitted to the rims. Both use the same tubing size. I was very careful to keep the tube in the tire when inflating. At first they looked good; However, after 5 minutes I felt the tire rubbing so I slowed down as the rear wheel slammed! I cycled home and removed the rear wheel. While I was examining it, the front wheel burst! Looking at both tubes you can see they are "flat" BUT I know they were installed correctly. I've changed enough lightbulbs to know what I'm doing. The tires were fine - no damage BUT then I remembered that when I received them they were twisted into an eight to make the package half the size. Previously when I ordered a clincher tire it came full size but that didn't cause the tire to blow out. The bending clearly damaged the wire bead and weakened the bead at that point. Under pressure, the bullet failed and the tube erupted and exploded. Max pressure is 85psi and I only pumped to 80psi so the pressure wasn't too high, but at 80psi there was enough pressure to slip out of the loose bead. Conclusion: These tires looked good and I have used Kenda tires before so the problem was not with the tire but with the spot that was supplied to me. So be careful, they were sent by Bike Liquidators.
