Wider than advertised but very comfortable

I have this seat on a 2008 Sportster Nightster 1200XL with front steering and road pegs. At first I didn't like how wide this saddle looked on the bike (see top view photo). But (or back to back) I like comfort despite the looks. It rides about 2 inches higher, so be prepared to adjust the mirrors and, depending on your height, a little discomfort on the brake lights. I'm 5ft 7" with an inseam of about 32", so waiting at bus stops is not very comfortable due to the wide seat. Lifting helps, but sliding forward and then back into the bucket when stopping and moving is annoying. Ultimately, I spend a lot less time parking than I do cycling, so it's an acceptable annoyance. I like the "bucket" feel, especially at higher speeds. Also, my previous single seat had a hole/tear and it was retired and my wife no longer rides. So it's time for a solo spot. Overall, the comfort of this seat is definitely worth it.
