I never really get shapers because the regular fitting kind gives me wedgies and the ones that are shorts give me muffin top on my legs - both make it so it's noticeable that I'm wearing something under my clothes. I was happy to try the thong version and it's much more discreet. I should have ordered a size smaller, I don't think it's sucking me in as much as I would like but maybe I can shrink it a bit. So maybe if you're not sure about two sizes, get try the smaller one. The thong part definitely goes up pretty high in the front 80's style but not in an uncomfortable way, it's just a little amusing. Whoever thought to finally make thong versions of shapewear has my thanks.
