The main purpose of buying this portable CD player is to listen to CD audio books in our car which does not have a CD player as is the case in many if not most new cars. I think there are other digital formats to listen to audiobooks these days, but we're a bit dated and clinging to what we know! This player works very well in the car, using the included aux cable to connect it to the car and listen to a book through the car speakers, and by plugging the included charging cable into the car's USB port. Both cables are long enough to place the device on the passenger seat or on the floor in the passenger area. The volume can be adjusted using either the vehicle controls or the CD player controls. The player controls allow you to pause the CD, skip to the next or previous track, or simply move forward or backward to your listening position. The device's memory remembers where you were in the audiobook, so when you turn it off, it picks up where you left off and turns it on again the next time. It is particularly nice that you can simply disconnect the device from the car if you want to continue listening somewhere else with the headphones supplied and with battery operation. There's a second headphone jack so two people can listen at the same time. I also used the CD player to listen to a music CD and the sound quality through the headphones seemed very good and the volume could be turned up quite high. Although a lot of people stream music these days, I have a huge collection of CDs that I enjoy listening to. There is a multi-mode button to change the sound, e.g. B. More bass etc. This square player feels solid and solid. A word of caution: when using a CD player in a car, the driver should never attempt to operate the controls or change CDs while the car is in motion as this can be very distracting and can lead to an accident!
