I bought it because I wanted something powerful, portable and light. I bought the keyboard that came with it, which is very important for using it as a computer. Didn't get docking station. I love this Surface, it's fast and responsive, and it's also very compact and easy to carry. The battery lasts quite a long time with basic functions such as MS Office tools and web browsing. I haven't tried it with more powerful applications like Photoshop and Adobe Premier, but I suspect it won't last as long with those tools since they use more processing power. Overall very happy with this purchase and the performance. It was larger than a standard laptop, but portability, ratings, and CPU/memory specs were better and more reliable.
