WARNING: Do not purchase this product. I just got mine and the wire seemed awfully small for a 12 AWG so I decided to take it apart. I didn't even have to measure the strands to see the main reason why you shouldn't buy this. The product is made of copper-plated aluminum instead of bare copper. In retrospect, I should have recognized that from the weight of the product. (Aluminum is less conductive than copper, which means you need more aluminum to match copper's performance.) Next, I compared the bare wire to a popular 14 AWG product. This product was smaller in diameter, meaning it probably wasn't even 14 AWG! The price of this product seemed too good to be true. Ah, it WAS too good to be true. So this product will "work", but I assume it's functionally equivalent to 18 AWG wire. Yes, it's that bad.
