With fire season coming up here in San Francisco we wanted to get ahead of the game and not try to buy an air filter to buy when it's already smoked and all stores are sold out. We looked at the cheaper models and the more expensive ones and liked how they fell in between. We also liked how it looked online and we still loved how it looked in person at our home. This is a kind of atmosphere of Apple products, which is a white cube. We put it in our bedroom to see if we could sleep over the noise and the noise wasn't an issue on the fan's slowest setting. The downside to using it in the bedroom is that the lights - the little indicator lights - are too bright. My wife cut out a triangular sheet of black paper and glued it to the headlights and it worked great. I would like the device to dim the lights and have a built in lid for use in the bedroom. In any case, we liked the device so much that we bought a second one that we will use in the living room. We don't have pets and our allergies aren't that big of an issue so I can't comment much on the effectiveness of the device and we only had the first device for a week. We hope we don't have another smoky town this year, but if we do, we feel more prepared than in previous years when we just closed our windows and suffered. You can only wear a face mask for so long!
