This heatsink case works great. It was one of the cheapest versions available and had a following. I used Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound instead of the included thermal pads. The clearances are correct for direct contact of the heatsink with the chips. I'm sure the included pads are good, but in general, thermal pads suck; For best results, use a high quality thermal compound. Extremely easy to assemble. I started using it in winter. Now the system runs all day in the barn without air conditioning. Even when the summer heat sets in in the US Southeast, the Pi4+ 8GB still works quite well despite the hot environment when using this heatsink. I am impressed. The fans are a bit louder than I'd like, although that's mainly because they're so small; the smaller they are, the higher the pitch and the easier it is to hear for the human ear. This is simply part of the use of such small fans, not the fault of the manufacturer. One makes a grinding noise and takes a while to rev up when first turned on, but once it starts it works fine. Support contacted with intent to purchase replacement fans if original fan fails as technically it still works. Their response was prompt and they sent the ENTIRE REPLACEMENT UNIT FREE, not just the fans. I really appreciate it, I really can't ask for more. And the delivery was surprisingly quick, both for the original purchase and, more importantly, for the replacement; especially since it came from China, it went very quickly. I'll run it until the original fan fails and then replace it to see how long it lasts. I have no doubt a fan is fine as even in a hot barn with no air conditioning it will still feel cold. Very happy with it, would definitely recommend. I'm considering hooking up a larger fan to replace two smaller ones to reduce the slight fan noise. It's not terrible or very loud, but can be annoying with prolonged use, e.g. B. as a replacement for a desktop that sits directly under the monitor like me. If it were hidden under a table or something I doubt you would even notice. I think it will probably run fine fanless for medium to light workloads; or even heavy loads in a cooler, draughty, or windy environment such as B. a room with a low-speed ceiling fan. All in all, the thing works great, I would buy it again and can absolutely recommend it. Their customer service was also top notch.
