I like that the bottom is open so the ingredients don't get caught in the water. I either put it in the sink or put it on a towel to wring it out. A very good use I've found for this is when I grate raw pancakes right in the spinner and then spin them around like crazy. Some of the potatoes go into the outer bowl, and I usually have to put them back in the spinner for a second round. A surprising amount of water comes out of the potatoes, but NO MORE WET HASH BROWN! Simply delicious and crispy, just the way we like it. I'm glad I ordered this baby.
