I have been using these to dry and finish my Pontiac G8 GT synthetic wax since I bought it in 2009. I'm a little over 6 months old, that's when I wash the car at least 2 times a week. I wash them along with my microfiber towels about every two months (I have enough towels to last that long before they all need cleaning). With such loads, I use chemical cleaning agents for microfiber. After 6 months, they still dry the car well, they just begin to deteriorate a little, forming small balls on the towel. As always, I keep them moist in the original pouch. I just make a cut at the top when opening a new package and then use the trunk storage bag. For drying and preventing streaks there is nothing better than my black metallic paint. ALWAYS REMEMBER. NEVER dry the painted surface with a dry towel! It should always be slightly damp, whether it's sprayed wax, icing, or even water. Dry towel scratches. Period.
