Is it low density polyethylene (LDPE) or PVC?

I am very confused about these squeeze bottles . Polypropylene is written on the side. There is a number 3 logo on the bottle indicating PVC which I don't want to use. To complicate things further, number 3 says "LDPE" for "Low Density Polyethylene", making it number 4. I'll probably use these for slime or paint, but not spice like I originally intended. . . It is made of plastic #3, which is PVC, not polypropylene. PVC is not my favorite food grade plastic. I would recommend finding a different plastic if you intend to use it for condiments or food. (Look for #1 or 5, polyethylene, etc.) Sure, PVC is everywhere, but why expose yourself any more? Otherwise, this is a great water bottle. I just don't understand the confusion when it comes to what my kids are going to eat from. Hope that helps!

Pros
  • Great for storing any type of condiment: BBQ sauce, olive oil, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, hot sauce, soy sauce, pancake mix, maple syrup, salad dressing, ranch, etc.
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
