Review on πŸ“½οΈ Optoma ML1050ST+ LED Projector - Portable, 1000 Lumens, Auto Focus by Matthew Seamster

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good portable business projector

I have the ML750 version of this guy and it's great for small/medium presentations Audience in dim light. The build quality is definitely good for the price. I wasn't prepared for how small it is, about the size of an Apple TV (although thicker, maybe two stacked on top of each other). Fits great in my backpack and is light enough to take with me everywhere. Image quality is acceptable for images up to 6 or 8 feet in diameter. I use the HDMI connector most often, but the standard 15-pin VGA connector will work as well. When paired with a Chromecast, Apple TV, or similar device, you can wirelessly stream presentations from your iPad or iPhone, which is super convenient. At 700 lumens, it's not bright enough for large-screen presentations in bright light. Some Epson projectors (which are much larger) put out a bit more light - this one is more suited to rooms where you can close the blinds and dim the lights if needed. The only thing I really don't like. is that the fan is pretty loud for the size of the device - it's a humming high-pitched noise that just annoys me. Also keep in mind that while this guy is great for business graphics (powerpoint etc), he wants to watch high definition movies on it - it's just that the picture quality isn't that great - so don't think he's using a 4K projector will replace for $20,000 slides in front of the group this is a great option.

Pros
  • BRIGHTNESS: Enjoy 1000 lumens of brightness in conference room, meeting room, classroom, classroom etc.
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other models
