The good first:* No wonder it fits perfectly with Franke's filter system. I have a Franke cold/hot water dispenser with a built-in filter*. Does the water taste better? Of course it is. It's noticeable, but it's not a _big_ difference where I live. I usually only notice this when switching from filtered to unfiltered water, because that's when I can actually notice "extra flavors" (perhaps chlorine?) in the water. Now for the bad: * The filter starts to work well and the water flow is good. Within a month or so the flow of water will decrease significantly and will soon slow to a trickle. I suspect this is because the filter is doing its job and getting clogged with all sorts of things I'd rather not drink, but it ends up needing to be replaced pretty quickly, which brings me to my second point. .* These things are expensive.* Finally, the last replacement filter I received is quite different from the previous ones. First, the color is different (don't ask me why I noticed, but I did). Secondly, the "burning" process has changed dramatically: you used to only let it run for 2 minutes, and now they say you let it run for 10 minutes, then wait 24 hours, and then let it run another 10 minutes . before you can finally use it. How quickly they wear out on me, I'm afraid I'll hardly burn it and then I'll have to change it! ;-) Overall I'm happy with the product, but wish the value could get better over time.
