This is a very durable iPad case. Once the tablet is securely seated in it (which is very easy), it fits snugly and the device can withstand a drop of at least a meter. (I didn't attempt high altitude, as my previous iPad was badly damaged when it fell six feet onto a carpet.) The device goes to sleep when the lid is closed, and the lid itself appears to be oil-resistant. and dirt from hands. I only regret the weight of this case. It adds 8 ounces to my 16 ounce iPad, although it seems a lot heavier.
