The engine mounts on the Jeep XJ are fairly simple. At least they should be. At the same time, these mounts sit significantly higher than my previous mounts. I was able to relieve my original mount by simply placing a block of wood on a jack and pressing lightly on the oil pan. The old one came out, the new one came in. This is where I noticed a difference in mounting height. This bracket will likely sit a half inch or an inch higher. Luckily I had another jack and an extra 2x4. Since there isn't a good way to lift the block from the exhaust side, I jacked it up at the end where the lip of the oil pan meets the block. Not exactly optimal, but tilting/lifting the block far enough on that side to align the hole with that bracket helped. If you did both sides it probably wouldn't be a problem because you would have separated both brackets and you could just lift the whole engine with the block on the oil pan but because I didn't have the other side as the other bracket is fine , it required the block to be flipped. If you don't have an extra connector, you can also unplug the other side. I'm sure you could raise the whole block, and then if you have to hook the other side backwards, it'll probably want to lean forward naturally when you lower it. Losing a star for making things a bit more complicated than they should be, but keeping the other 4 because it seems to be working fine now that it's in.
