I bought these in a bundle because my cat needed a wider open litter box. Partially blind, he pushes the bowl until his face is square in the bowl. I also use them to feed my street cat. It rained one night and the next morning with water in the bowl it held like a charm and I thought it would be a mess if the cat didn't eat it all. I use disposable bowls because I live in a tiny house and don't like dishes piling up in one day (cat eats twice a day) and I want the bowl to be CLEAN every other day. It's expensive BUT compared to Glad's disposable pet bowls, it's a better price for a bowl with a larger opening and wider base. It serves my purpose of keeping my cat from completely knocking over an entire bowl at each feeding and it's hygienic which is crucial for his eyes. By the way, it is definitely suitable for soups/stews (not plastic and thin). Hope that helps.
