The first one I bought fell apart when unwrapping the cable. The strain reliefs are designed so that applying any torque to the cable can open the built in amplifier module in the middle of the cable. I sent it back and got another one which didn't fall apart this time. The cable is ideal for USB 2.0 devices such as keyboards, mice and headphone amps. However, when I plug the Logitech StreamCam directly into the cable (using only the USB-CA adapter), it is recognized as a 5000Mbps (SuperSpeed) device. Unfortunately the camera doesn't work. guvcview (on Linux) just freezes when accessing the camera. The same applies when I connect the camera to an Anker 7-port hub using this cable. The same camera and hub works fine with the 25ft cable I have, so the only difference is that cable. Ultimately you don't have much of a choice if you want a 50ft cable so you can still buy it but if a 25ft cable would do that kind of performance I would send it back for a refund and buy this one, which works well: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IOXVWL6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
