Review on 🎨 Enhance Your Creativity with Electric Quilt A-0008EQ: The Ultimate Digital Design Solution by Carol Miller

The way I quilt has completely changed, I wish I had bought it years ago. Great value for money, VERY easy to use, best tech support and customer service

back. Compared to other graphic design software like my Bernina machine embroidery software (MSRP $2500), web design software Adobe PhotoShop and DreamWeaver (currently available as a $600 subscription), or the interior design software I use for my work ($497) . ), EQ8 is an incredible value for the quilt design software on the market for under $200. I've uploaded photos of the first quilt I designed in EQ, an image from the program, and the finished quilt. I no longer have to wonder if I should go a darker or lighter shade, or wondering if my fabrics have enough contrast to make the stitch pattern stand out on the finished quilt. I find EQ8 very easy to use and the new v8 interface is actually much more intuitive for new users than EQ7. Icons and fonts are bigger and easier to find, and cool design tools you might have forgotten are now right on your desktop for you to see. Of course, it will take some time for users upgrading from a previous version to get used to the new interface, but I can now get what I want with FEWER mouse clicks, without having to search through the dropdown menus, and I find I will now have LESS frequent access to guided tours. I have some experience with other graphic design programs (which is why I'm so SHOCKED at how little EQ8 costs when it can do so much). And I would consider myself an early adopter of technology - I love using the power of the digital age to push the boundaries of what I can design and create with a needle and thread. If you're someone who gets easily confused or frustrated by technological changes and isn't very tech savvy, I still think you can benefit from this software, but I would recommend taking a course to learn the basics. A few years ago I took the EQ8 Advanced Piecing class with Barb Vlak at one of the sewing and quilting shows and although it was supposed to be an advanced class, she was VERY patient with a few beginners who signed up for the class. class by mistake. EQ8 beginner courses are always offered at major quilt festivals and I think this would be the perfect way to get acquainted with EQ8 for those who are afraid they can't figure out how to use it. However, the EQ8 has step-by-step lessons that you can access directly from the drop-down menu. They'll walk you through what you need to know to get started right away. When I bought this program, I was just learning how to use it from these tutorials and experimenting with the software, trying different tools to see what they do. Electric Quilt's website offers best practice books, add-on packs (additional block designs or virtual fabrics for the design) and just a wealth of educational resources. They also regularly do walkthroughs on their blog. I've only had to contact EQ support a few times when I wanted to create something really crazy and out of the ordinary, but both times I got a response within 24 hours with a detailed solution. So I'm a big HUGE fan of the EQ8 giving me quality products and service from Niemann Marcus at Walmart prices! By the way, you don't even have to learn everything the software can do to benefit from it. When you buy the EQ8, 6779 copyright-free blocks are included in the block library, organized by type for browsing, but you can also search by keyword. So if you type Ohio Star, every version of Ohio Star you can imagine will appear. All you have to do is select one, enter the block size you want, and then you can choose to print a rotary pattern, paper cut template, or old-school templates. This software will pay off even if you've only ever used it to print block patterns, because you'll never have to buy a quilt pattern again - or buy a book or magazine to get a pattern.
