Love this sewing software

EQ8 is so easy to use I was able to take photos of my grandma's t-shirts to help with the layout of the t-shirt memory quilt. Helped estimate the size of the fabric between the shirts. Finally, after not being able to figure it out for 3 years, I figured out the layout in half a day. I love how this helps calculate the amount of fabric needed for a block or quilt. The only thing that would be nice would be if the software could help with assembly instructions, but understand that for the price,

Ceiling designers dream

Love EQ8. I've been working on one of the workbooks to design quilts from very detailed tutorials. I've made over 20 quilts since Christmas. I love that I can take a picture of my fabric and import it into EQ8 so I can see it in block or quilt designs. Some commands are counterintuitive, but working through the book leads to these oddities. I have not checked the fabric requirements (calculations) of my quilt designs, just assumed that even that appears correct. It seemed pretty easy to me, but

Can't tell if it's good as it can't be installed - easy

I'm computer savvy, for example I'm a computer engineer. This software won't install - and I really don't want to go through the Windows registry to find out why. So I can't say if the quilting program is any good, which is a shame because a) it was expensive and b) my Christmas present and c) something I'd really like to play with. FIX: If the installation fails, the program doesn't clean itself up properly, which means a regedit session is required. It turns out that for some reason the "EBR"

Don't upgrade to Electric Quilt 8, 7 is better.

Electric Quilt 8 sucks! I've been a dedicated user for many years, starting with the Electric Quilt 4, the Electric Quilt 8 puts the watch back into user comfort mode. If you want to know how to do something in Electric Quilt 7, you can go to the Help menu and do a search, that's all. For the Electric Quilt 8, the Help menu only displays the online manual, it is not searchable. Every previous edition came with a printed manual, now you don't have to buy it for $35. Keyboard shortcuts that…

back. Compared to other graphic design software like my Bernina machine embroidery software (MSRP $2500), web design software Adobe PhotoShop and DreamWeaver (currently available as a $600 subscription), or the interior design software I use for my work ($497) . ), EQ8 is an incredible value for the quilt design software on the market for under $200. I've uploaded photos of the first quilt I designed in EQ, an image from the program, and the finished quilt. I no longer have to wonder if I…
