Crazy about this apron

It's a pleasure to make. Not as easy as they say if you do it right, like topstitching and pockets. With my first apron, I walked in pockets. That made the whole thing too unwieldy. I removed the pockets and piping and then used two sets to make the pockets which I sewed together, turned inside out and topstitched. I only knit bags on one side and show the wrong side of the pattern. Then the pockets are only on one side. I used embroidery for the top of the bag and it looks so cute. Using a yard of each fabric and the full size of the pattern will leave the shoulder straps without enough fabric to cut. I used most of the hem to match the pattern pieces. However, later purchases of 1 1/8 yards produced enough material to make webbing at the bottom of the fabric. Please note that this is not a problem if you are cutting a smaller pattern. I'm 5ft 5" and I shortened the straps by about 3". I transferred the pattern to freezer wrap for a durable and reusable pattern. When I made transfer markings for the pocket, I didn't cut through the freezer paper and I still have the original pattern intact. The pattern has a journal section to record what and who you made the apron for.
