Competent little slicer with one fatal flaw

Easy setup. Oil cleaning and disinfection at the factory is not a bad job. I used a mail glove to remove and clean the blade. It slices cooked ham well and the slice thickness adjustment was firm and stayed in place - unlike some other slicers I've used over the years. After slicing the ham, I quickly rubbed the blade without removing it and applied some cooking oil to lubricate the blade to cut the block of cheese. It was a standard 1 pound block of medium cheddar sliced from the end of the block. He cut 3 slices before another application of vegetable oil was required. And so it was for the rest of the block. You can only cut both ham and cheese to about 1/4 to 3/8 inch. It's about the norm. I was very satisfied with the overall performance. Found that there were flaws in the design of the tray that holds the meat etc while slicing. It is a stainless steel finish with a plastic body. See photo. Meats and cheeses got stuck in this slot and couldn't be cleaned, preventing bacteria from growing during storage. under a plastic slide with a silicone rubber seal would possibly disinfect the crack. In its current form it cannot be cleaned according to hygienic standards. i give it back
