I waited months before reviewing these containers because I wanted to provide more information than just a first impression and I'm glad I did . These are very good containers. I love how they close, and the corner vents seem like a great idea (I managed to fill a container almost to the brim with flour and didn't get a puff of flowers with the corner vent open). when I close the lid). However, they do not let air or moisture through. I use desiccant bags with indicator beads on all my dry goods. When I got these containers I had regular flour in a standard Rubbermaid container (with a red lid) and I put the replacement flour in one of these containers and put a couple of desiccant bags on top. When I went baking a few weeks ago, the packets in my Rubbermaid container didn't change color, but the ones I put in that container did. Thinking it was an accident I changed the packs and actually doubled the number of packs (from 3-5g to 65g) and closed them again. Then yesterday I used the last of my flour from the Rubbermaid container (the original 3 5g packets of desiccant were just starting to show) and in this container all the packets showed up completely - again. So now I'm transferring my flour back to my old container, ordering new Rubbermaid containers for my stash and will use them for short term storage that doesn't need to remain airtight. to meet daily necessities but not to store dry goods that need to stay dry for more than a week or two.
