Disappointed... not 1080p

When I took this project out of the box I was very excited because it looked so cool. The logo on the top of the projector lights up even when it's on. Nice gesture. The first issue I had was that the included HDMI cable was dead on arrival. I used the ones I already had. When trying to display content with it, I quickly noticed that the image wasn't as sharp as I expected. After further research and looking at what the projector was displaying on the screen, it was displaying content at a resolution of 1280 x 768. It's almost 720p, but definitely not 1080p. When trying to set the resolution on my MacBook, the maximum possible resolution is 1440x900, which is still less than 1920x1080. Apart from the resolution, the color reproduction of this projector is pretty bad. There is a lot of green/yellow cast on the screen no matter what I change in the settings. I tried reducing the green which resulted in more yellow. I changed the color temperature from medium to cool, but that didn't help much, I just made everything too cold. Fan noise is a bit louder than other projectors I've used at around 55dB. I can say that the speakers aren't the worst I've ever heard from a projector. They're not very tinny, but they're not very loud either. Overall, I'd stay away from this projector, mainly because it won't export native 1080p resolution, and even if it did, it would have a green/yellow tint.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Damaged
