I have bought different models of these holder/chargers. I wanted to compare the pros and cons of each device side-by-side. This has been the winner so far. First, it charges great. I don't drain my phone too much, but I do listen to music and use GPS while driving. My phone is always fine on a charge. The two main advantages that made me choose this charger were: 1) The fact that you can use the holder with or without the device switched on. There was a lot more involved than I thought. For others, you turn off the car and need to get the phone, you need to turn the ignition back on to open the cradle. This opens and closes without turning the car on. 2) The mounting options that come with this bracket are better than others. I don't use suction cups. The one that came with this device is pretty impressive. Even on my textured dashboard it held tight until I took it off. It comes with a plastic disc that sticks to the dashboard if needed. The option that impressed me the most is the vent mount. I absolutely hate vent mounts. They never seem to work properly and always want to fall out. The vent mount with this unit is actually tightened to the vent with a plastic wing nut type screw. It held tight and changed my view of vent mounts. Holds my phone at the right angle for easy viewing. I bought another one of these for my fiancee. She loves it too. If my car started today I would without a doubt order another one. Time will tell if it holds up. But I would buy another one. If you are looking for a good car mount; Try it.
