So the main reason for the purchase was to minimize the number of cables coming out the back of my PC case. Really the only reason I could see someone buying this is for the cable to fit in a limited space or look like what I wanted. Well, as you can see from the photo, I plugged one displayport cable directly into the connector and the other uses this adapter. The one connected with the adapter takes up more space and protrudes further than the one without the adapter. I also had intermittent problems with my monitor (Samsung CRG90 49 inch ultrawide 1440p): texts became slightly blurry and photos/videos got a "shiny" effect. This was particularly evident in public. Their faces, hands, etc. seemed to be covered with water, it was so shiny. There may be a use case I'm missing where it's useful. But overall I wouldn't recommend it.
