Let me start by saying that I am happy with these containers and they serve the purpose I need them for very well. I really only needed something to store and organize a small amount of suspension files as even a small two drawer metal cabinet would be too much for what I needed. The top longitudinal edges swayed slightly to stand up. It's good if they're a little firmer, as they'll stay in place better and give the container a little more structural integrity. They have some tendency to slide up, but once you start putting weight (filing) on them, this causes the basket material and plastic skids to fit together better. What these baskets are: Made of fabric, lighter weight, decent construction for easy storage. They are best suited for lighter file storage needs, for transporting small batches of files between locations, or for light-weight storage. Suspension files are placed inside, but the hooks don't hang as neatly as they do on special metal file guides. If you want to use a lid, you cannot use plastic labels on files. The plastic rails are wider than the opening of most standard hanging file hooks. If your file storage needs are small, then this is a much more affordable and attractive solution than purchasing a heavier document storage solution. I could also see that this is a decent storage solution for stuffed animals or craft supplies. What these drawers are NOT: If you need more than occasional filing, they won't replace standard filing drawers, drawers, or cabinets. If you plan to store a lot of hanging paper files or even label your files with tabs, these bins are not for you. The cover is placed on the hanging file, but sits directly on the files. There is no gap for tabbed file links so they squash or pop out when folded. Spacing and dimensions apply to the top of the hanging file only. I also caution against overloading containers for carrying capacity. They're decently constructed, but they're still fabric and the stitching will wear out. If you want to carry a heavy load, simply invest in a more durable plastic or metal construction that can take the weight. Do I like these tanks? Yes! But I bought them for a very specific purpose. While I've had metal filing cabinets in the past, this would be overkill for the small volume storage I needed a solution for. These containers are very well suited to this need and I would recommend them to those with similar needs.
