This product saved me money and time. My solution is two years old and I've used multiple products to clean it. (ie) baking soda and peroxide, Oxyclean and vinegar based cleaners with negative results. I didn't want to try the grout pen because some reviews said it was difficult to use and the tip didn't last long. Well I'm so glad I tried it. I've done my kitchen and half my bathroom with no problems. You really need to follow the instructions completely and you will be fine. I used a paper plate to refill the pen each time the paint wasn't flowing freely. Just keep threading the pin and don't press too hard and it will work just fine. I used winter gray. I applied one coat and let it dry for an hour and then went over it again. My only concern is how long this pen will keep my (floor/grout) looking nice and fresh. I would repeat this process every year if I had to. Later we will tell you the last 3 weeks or 3 years. I emailed the RAINBOW CHALK company and asked if I needed to seal the solution with chalk so it wouldn't stain and they said no. So only time will tell.
